12th National Forum on Waste Materials

<p>On the 18<sup>th</sup> and 19<sup>th</sup> of April, ECODEAL attended the 12<sup>th</sup> edition&nbsp; of the National Forum on Waste Materials.</p>
<p>&nbsp;Its main purpose was to analyze the issue concerning the lack of regulation on contaminated soils and to discuss the new demands and challenges which are imposed to the sector. This seminar was attended by several representatives of large Groups and companies related to waste treatment and environmental upkeep.</p>
<p>With special participation of the Minister for the Environment, João Pedro Matos Fernandes, and the Secretary of State for the Environment, Carlos Martins, this session presented a great debate concerning the theme: Mandatory Selective Collection of Organic Waste until 2023, as well as the importance of waste classification.</p>
<p>ECODEAL was present in order to launch the debate on industrial waste management in Portugal, and to bring forward its outlook on Hazardous Waste and the new CIRVER licenses, which will have to be renewed this year. More importantly, it highlighted the lack of regulation on contaminated soils and the importance of correct waste classification.</p>
